I failed to accomplish most of my goals or to make significant changes or improvements in my life during my first One Hundred Days.
I am going to try again.
Originally posted on Day Twenty-Six and annotated yesterday on the 100th day, here is a revised version of my list of things to accomplish in the next 100 days:
- Get the house ready for a real-estate appraisal and possible listing for sale
- Complete structural and aesthetic repairs, like painting and patching
- Clean out the clutter!
- Reduce the physical volume of my possessions by half
- Current number of boxes and storage containers: 64 plastic tubs of various sizes; approximately 6 odd-sized cardboard boxes; 1 storage barrel
- Reduce the physical volume of my possessions by half
- List the house as For Sale By Owner through a DIY Multiple Listing Service broker
- Set up a For Sale by Owner web site at SurferKitty.com
- SELL THE CURRENT HOUSE
- Move away from Hawaii*
- *Unless we win the lottery or otherwise can suddenly afford to keep living here!

- Buy a new house – paid for in full – no mortgage
- Buy a new car; or two
- First car (Suzuki Sidekick replacement)

- Improve cardio endurance (run ultra distances)
- Comfortably wear 30-inch waist Levi’s 501 regular cut jeans
- Pay off my credit cards
- Current balance (2 November 2014): $21,864
- Find or create a new career
- Make a living at a job, profession, or business I don’t hate
- Make more money than I do now
- Have as much or more
freenon-work or to-use-as-I-prefer time as I do now
- Write and publish eBook novels on Amazon (and other formats)
- Complete NaNoWriMo 2014
- Publish my NaNoWriMo project on Amazon for Kindle
- Improve this blog
- Post daily for another 100 days
- Figure out how to make it look cool
- Refine the focus and purpose of the Chamber of Chaos site
- Improve my blogging style – make it more like NerdFitness
- Decide if blogging is worth pursuing longer-term
- Read five or more books
- Finish reading (and acting on) Adventure in Everything by Matthew Walker
- Post my list of One-Hundred Great Novels to Read
- Read some of the books on this list!
- Miscellaea
- Practice playing the ukulele – learn Tiptoe Through the Tulips
- Practice drawing
- Resume posting photos regularly to Flickr
- Include more photos in Chamber of Chaos posts
So… what did I accomplish today? Even though I’m still feeling quite under the weather, I completed 100 pushups and 100 situps. Day One… done!
